Biographie
My name is Sameer Batla, I am thirteen years old and in eighth grade at Lincoln Middle School in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I play guitar and sing in school choir and divisional choir. I also love acting, I have been a lead role in several plays and musicals. One of the biggest awards I won at school was the "Responsible Leadership Award" which is the most honourable award that a seventh grade student can receive and it is basically for the top student of the year. I love swimming and playing basketball. My favourite subjects are science and math. When I'm older I'd like to become a doctor or work for NASA. I have been participating in the Science Fairs ever since I was in the second grade. For the past three years, my science fair projects were on renewable energies. However, this year I wanted to learn about Diabetes Mellitus as it is a topic close to heart. I recommend everyone to participate in science fairs and to remember that it does not matter what your ranking is, the thing that matters most is that you learned something new.

Sommaire:Diabetes is a disease that affects roughly 2.5 million Canadians. Left untreated, it can lead to many serious complications and may even be life threatening. This is a research project/study in which I learned all about diabetes. I looked at the different types of diabetes, complications, cure, ect. I also surveyed and interviewed multiple patients and healthcare professionals to gain a greater understanding about diabetes.
