| My name is Margaret Hodgson, I am from Norman Wells NT, and I am in Grade 8 at Makenzie Mountain school. I am very interested in Science and Art. I plan on pursuing a career in writing. I drew inspiration for this project by helping at the Norman Wells Bottle Depot. I wanted to find a way to reuse the cardboard brought in by the customers at the bottle depot. If somebody else were to conduct an experiment similar to this, I would advise them to start early and make sure they have a enough time frame to complete the project. |

I wanted to create a monocultural chemo stat that would optimize the growth rate in a sustainable population of Daphnia. Two years ago I found the LC50 for Daphnia in bleach, since Daphnia can survive in polluted and non-polluted water I wanted to see how toxic of an environment they could withstand. |
