Biographie
Hi! My name is Patricia Humer. I am 13 years old and I live in Kelowna, B.C. I am in grade 8 at Ecole KLO Middle School in French Immersion. My hobbies include Irish Dance, sailing and soccer. In school band I play the French Horn and the trombone. For my science project I wanted to see if the colour of your eye and the intensity of light affected the occurence of red eye. I was inspired to do this science project because I have always loved taking photos and the occurrence of red eye has always intrested/confused me. For future investigation it would be very interesting to test other colours of eyes than brown and blue such as green, gray and hazel. It would also be very interesting to test other intensities of light indoors and outdoors. If I had to give one piece of advice to students thinking about doing a project I would say that you must pick a subject you are passionate about and interested in. In the future I would love to become a cardiologist. I am very excited to see Montreal! :)

Your Eyes Are...RED?
Défi:Découverte
Catégorie:Junior
Région:Central Okanagan
Ville:Kelowna , BC
École:KLO Middle School
Sommaire:I wondered if the intensity of light and the colour of your eyes affected the presentation of red-eye in photographs. In four different intensities of light I took photographs of 10 people (5 brown eyed, 5 blue eyed). I predicited that people with blue eyes with obtain the most red eye in 3 lux (the least amount of light). My hypothesis was proven correct.
