Biographies
Maddie - I am a grade 8 student in Hanna, Alberta. I like to be busy. I am involved in basketball, 4H, dance, and public speaking. I would love to be a vet when I grow up. The best pets that I have ever had were three embden goslings and my bearded dragon, Benji.
Nicole - I am a grade 9 student from Hanna, Alberta. I live on a farm with my parents and brother. I also have two sisters attending University. One of my main interests is animals and I have several horses, a goat, ball python, tarantula and a scorpion for pets. I have been involved in 4-H for the past six years and I have a steer and market lamb project this year. One of the many 4-H activities that I am interested in is public speaking which most kids hate but I actually love. I have my green belt in Tae Kwon Do and am working towards testing for my blue belt. In the winter I volunteer as an assistant coach in the junior curling program. I also curl competitively on a Bantam girls curling team and I am the team skip. Other interests include reading, music and outdoor activities like camping. I am a volunteer for our local Ducks Unlimited Chapter in Hanna and I’m a strong believer in wildlife conservation. In the future I would like to pursue a career in microbiology or teaching. I competed at CWSF last year in Peterborough ON and in Winnipeg MB in 2009.
