Biography
My name is Harishitaa Prithiviraj. I'm 13 and go to Redcliff Middle School, Truro, Nova Scotia. I am a grade seven student in the integrated French program. I play piano, soccer, badminton and like singing and dancing. I participated in the French speaking competition and got Bronze. I also participated in a number of music efstival since grade five. Also, I have competed in science fair since grade 4. My aim is to become a Paediatrician and a researcher because I find health science very interesting. This is also where I got the inspiration for my project.. My aim for this project is to find natural substances that can reduce or delay the onset of Alzheimer’s disease. Also using natuaral chemcals will have minimal negative impact on our body. In the future I would love to find a cure for this disease. For the stidemts who want to do a science project, do something that you are interested and something you can learn from.

Abstract:Alzheimer’s Disease is a devastating disease that leads to loss of memory, inability to do simple tasks, and can cause death. I used a nematode model for this experiment. I investigated the affect that the natural volatile compounds on the disease. The results were that the Balsam Fir had enormous effect on delaying the disease in the worms.
