Hi, I'm Shannon Ball, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba! I love horses and "The Lord of the Rings." I happen to be a fan of country music. I play baritone saxophone in concert band and jazz band. I am not sure what I want to do after high school, although I am leaning towards becoming a vet with a specialty in equine medicine. This is my eighth year doing science fairs and my fifth with MSSS. This will be my second year attending the CWSF, and that is a huge achievement for me! However, my most notable experience would be going down to Kentucky for the last three years with my mom. My dad has been the greatest supporter of my science fairs and it means a lot to be to have him be able to see my projects reach this standard. |
| Shannon Ball Taking the "Pulse" of the Value People Add to Forecasting Using Lightining Dat

The second team beat the first. My idea was to use data from Canadian models, along with lightning data, to understand why Project Phoenix results show a significant improvement over the operations based forecasts. |
