Hannah - My name is Hannah Boone. I'm 14 and in grade nine French Immersion at St. Paul's Junior High, in St. John's Newfoundland. I'm very involved with my school. I am a member of the volleyball team, track team, choir, concert band, jazz band and string ensemble. Outside of school, most of my time is occupied by volleyball because I play on three teams. I also enjoy swimming, soccer and running. I'm in two other bands and a choir at my church, as well as an orchestra. I'm also in violin, piano and trumpet lessons. Apart from that I enjoy volunteering, tutoring, reading and traveling. Im also a member of the Duke of Edinburgh program. Recently, one of my greatest accomplishments was that Megan and I won Best in Fair at the regional fair as well as first place at the Sanofi-Aventis Biotalent Challenge. In the future I hope to pursue a career in Medicine. | Megan - My name is Megan Howse and I am a level 1 french immersion student at O'Donel High School in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. I am a member of the concert band, jazz band, choir and junior girls volleyball team at O'Donel. Outside of school, I am very involved in my community. I am a member of Shallaway-Newfoundland and Labrador Youth In Chorus, with whom I travelled to France, Belgium and the Netherlands this year. I am also a member of my church youth band, choir and senior band. I also take piano and voice lessons, and volunteer with my church youth group and teach Sunday school. In my free time I enjoy reading and traveling. Recently, Hannah and I won Best In Fair at our regional science fair, as well as first place in the regional Sanofi-Aventis BioTalent Challenge. I am really excited to be returning to CWSF, as I attended CWSF 2009, in Winnipeg, where I received a gold medal. In the future, I hope to pursue a career in medicine. |

Our compound was well absorbed into liposome lipid bilayer, with a mean absorbance rate of 72%. Our compound encouraged dilatation and inhibited contraction in a rat-aorta model, indicating that it's a vaso-dilator. It also inhibited angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activity by 100%, demonstrating significant anti-hypertensive effect. |
