Grace - My name is Grace Turgeon and I completed a project with my partner Isabella Winkler on auditory and visual memory. Our inspiration for this project was the brain. To us, the brain is a very interesting organ. For our project, we wanted to test the brain’s memory. We tested auditory and visual memory because they were the most common for us. We knew this study would be useful for teachers to determine which way they should teach their students. And, it would show students which type of is best suited for them. To further our project, we would study different age groups. We would like to test university students to see if different age groups have a different type of memory. Our advice to other students doing studies would be to follow the scientific process and to be precise. We would also tell them to do a project that they are interested in or else it won’t be fun. In my free time, I enjoy baking, fishing, playing with my dog and being outside. I plan on finishing high school then going to either college to study oceanology or to culinary school.
Isabella - My name is Isabella Winkler and I did a project with my partner Grace Turgeon on auditory and visual memory. I enjoy playing sports, focusing on school work and being involved in school activities. This year I won second place for Concour D'arts Oratoire and I get the opportunity to compete in provincials in Saskatoon. In the future I plan on going to medical school to become a surgeon. Abstract:We studied if you remember things better with auditory or visual memory. We found it interesting that there was a big difference in the results. Our project will make a difference for students and teachers. It would show teachers what learning style is best for their class. It will make a difference for students because they will know which way of studying is more effective.
