| My name is Griffin Smeenk. I am 14 years old and have participated in the Chatham-Kent science fair since grade five. I like science, especially things like human anatomy, I am hoping to become a doctor when I finish my schooling. I love the Harry Potter books and movies. I play volleyball for my school team and am part of the stuedent council. I like to travel, and recently went on a trip through Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Yellow is my favorite colour. |

Environmentally friendly sorbents were used to see how effectively they cleaned up a replicated oil spill. The project also looked at whether the sorbents could be discarded safely, and used to make energy after cleaning the oil spill. |
