Biography
My name is Stephanie Miller and I love learning new things. I am very athletic and love gymnastics and tennis. Playing the piano and the flute makes me very musical as well. I also like to read and knit. One day, I was visiting my grandparents and my grandfather showed me a picture of a beached whale that he and his friend had found. I wondered how it got there because there were no signs of attack. A couple years later, I decided to find an answer, and that was what inspired me to do this project. There are many more things I would like to do with this project. For example, I would like to use a higher voltage, research what is in their scales that protects them, use a larger volume of water and larger fish. If other students were to do a project, I would advise them to do something interesting that the public would enjoy as much as they would, and to also be creative. Search for an idea outside of the box so the project would be even more unique!

Abstract:When lightning strikes on land, the consequences can be both damaging and devastating. When lightning strikes at sea, however, does the electrical energy have the same impact as that of on land? I set out to determine if electrical conduction is affected by both the physical parameters and the composition of the medium.
