On Farm Algae Production
Challenge:Environment
Category:Junior
Region:Central Alberta
City:Olds, AB, Olds , AB
School:Deer Meadow School
Abstract:Different concentrations of dairy manure were tested to determine what is the best blend when producing algae for fuel and feed? We found out that 2% manure was the best blend because the cell count was highest, and the algae were able to use up all of the nutrients. We can make enough biodiesel and feed to support our farm.
