Biographie
Noa Bridson is a Gr. 11 student living in Collingwood, Ontario. She serves on Student Council as both the Environmental Rep and on the Student Senate. She is a member of the Social Justice Club, Youth In Action Club and is a Link Crew leader. As the founder and president of her school’s eco-club, “Earth Link”, she has created many successful projects and campaigns on environmental issues within her school and community. Noa enjoys staying active participating on many sports teams including Cross Country Running, Nordic Skiing, Soccer and Dragon Boat racing. She is a member on the Board of Directors for a local organization, the Environment Network, and is also on Ontario Nature’s Youth Council. Thanks to her hard work and dedication to environmental issues Noa is a recent recipient of The Starfish “Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25”. Noa’s passion for the environment has led her to create her current Science Fair Project which she hopes will help demonstrate the connection between harming the environment and harming ourselves. Noa looks forward to one more year of high school before attending university in the field of Environmental Science and a future spent living and traveling abroad.

Sommaire:A survey given identified chemicals teenage girls were exposed to through personal care products(N=50). The top chemicals using the Ingredient Hazardous Scores were: fragrance, methylchloroisothiazolinone/methylisothiazolinone, propylparaben , sodium fluoride, formaldehyde releasers, butylated hydroxytoluene, methylparaben, linalool, limonene, and isoeugenol/eugenol. Weekly exposure to chemicals ranged between 24 and 207 times with a mean of 113.3. Negative health effects caused by repetitive exposure to chemicals were discussed.
