Biography
My name is Daniel O’Reilly, I am in grade 7 at Immaculate Conception School in Prince George, BC. I am very excited to attend my first Canada Wide Science Fair. At school I am on the Principals list and participate in volleyball, basketball, track, leadership, band, chess, and most recently was chosen to represent my school on a television game show called “Quiz Me”. In addition I love music and play classical piano - grade 5 repertoire, acoustic and electric guitar, saxophone and the ukulele. I also enjoy soccer, downhill skiing, and hold an orange belt in judo. At the Central Interior Regional Science Fair my project won a Gold medal, The Community Enhancement Award, Best in Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Sciences and Best in Fair for grades 7-12. My project was inspired by the routine head checks for lice at school and a story my grandfather told me. My future plan pending ethics approval would be human participation. The best advice I can give to students that are thinking about doing a project is, “just do it and the results could amaze you!” My career goal is to continue with sciences.
