Division: | Physical & Mathematical Sciences | Category: | Senior | Region: | Toronto | City: | Toronto, ON | School: | Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute | Abstract: | Theories explaining seismological tsunami generation, propagation and shore interaction were reviewed in detail. These were applied to the 2004 Sunda-Trench tsunami to determine characteristics such as wave speed, wave height, wavelength, run-up height and velocity. A basic model of a tsunami was effected to demonstrate established theory. |
