| My first experience with science fair was in grade 5; To sum it up, my project failed miserably (at least from an award standpoint). That same year, at the encouragement of my programmer parents, I learned my first programming language; ruby. That failed miserably too, as I got about halfway through the book then quit in frustration. Then I gave it another shot in grade 8 and finally learned the language. Grade 9, however, was probably the turning point in my life. Over summer, I learned touch typing, and then attended the Alberta CMS math camp. The biggest change, though, was when I decided to give the Science fair another shot and built a robotic arm, which got me a stage award and an invitation to the Canada Wide Science Fair. But it did more than just that; it helped me make the decision of who I wanted to be when I grew up; An Engineer. It also reinforced my dream of going to MIT.
