| Ahmed Syed is a grade 9 TOPS on Bloor student at Bloor Collegiate in Toronto. He is an honour roll student who challenges himself by enrolling into enriched English, Science and Mathematics courses. To teachers and to students he has proven himself to be a responsible, reliable, and ambitious individual. He has earned numerous academic recognition certificates, awards and medals and several plaques for participating in different science competitions and sport teams. Ahmed is an all-rounded student who gives back to his community, regularly. He plans to pursue a career in Aviation and is a proud member of the 330 Royal Canadian Air Cadets holding a rank of Sergeant. He is currently working on his Duke of Edinburgh award activities. Being a strong athletic, he plays a variety of sports including soccer, biathlon and cricket. Through volunteering, he works with children and staff at Parks, Forestry and Recreation with activities and trips and at Collège Frontière (national non-profit organization) as a peer-tutor. Ahmed has won a silver medal in the Toronto Sci-Tech fair in 2010. This year his project received a gold medal and being one of the 2011 finalists, he is honored to represent his region at the CWSF. |

C You Later: Degradiation of Vitamin C

Upon analyzing the rate at which Vitamin C in apple and orange juice degrades in situ, it was concluded that Vitamin C content is lost in both the juices, within a week if left uncovered. |
