Biography
My name is Sam Delacherois. I am a grade eighthon roll student. I am also on the work ethic, and principal's list at Williams Lake Secondary School in Williams Lake, British Columbia. Right now, I am the goalie for the rep soccer team. I play a variety of school sports from volleyball, to soccer, to floor hockey. For the past eight years, I have been competitively swimming in the Blue Fins Swim Club. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music, hanging out with friends, snowboarding, and practicing soccer in my back yard. Some of my accomplishments include: Gold medal at the Regional Science Fair (2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011), Top Environmental Award (2009), Student’s Choice Award (2010), Interior Science Innovation Council Bioenergy Award (2011), BC Science Teachers' Association Award (2011), Top Biotechnology Award (2011); and the Principal’s Award at my school (2010). I would like to pursue my dream career as a chef or a forensic scientist. I also plan on moving to Nova Scotia or PEI, with a summer home in California. I am very honored and excited to be attending the Canada Wide Science Fair in Toronto, Ontario.

Fuel for the Future
Challenge:Energy
Category:Junior
Region:Cariboo Mainline
City:Williams Lake, BC
School:Williams Lake Secondary School
Abstract:This project studied the different types of biofuels to see which one could potentially replace our diminishing crude oil supply. The best biofuel choice should be renewable, easy to grow and produce, and environmentally friendly. Algae are the fuel for the future because of its high oil production rate, rapid growth, and they clean up the air and reduce greenhouse gases.
