Vineth - Hello, I am Vineth Castelino. Originally from India, I have extensively travelled and lived in various countries. Now, I’m living in Peace River. There have been countless times where I couldn’t wait to get home, and take my socks off. My feet always got really sweaty, which caused a lot of discomfort. Added to this the socks gave of a foul odor. I started thinking: What if we can make socks that keep your feet dry, and trap the odor? That is how we got our problem for science fair. I like science as it gives me answers to many of my questions on how things around me work. Science encourages me to investigate and look for explanations on my own using experiments and research. I love getting involved with my community. I actively participate in church activities and regularly volunteer. I won the Christian Service award and was nominated for “Noel Cairney” award for showing acts of kindness. I am involved in various athletic activities. I am part of our school Junior A basketball, and track team. I’m a swimming enthusiast. I’ve completed my hunter’s Ed and enjoy going into the bush to hunt. | Angelica - My name is Angelica Alberto. I am a grade 9 student at Glenmary School in Peace River, Alberta. I love school , family and friends and i play all kinds of sports but my favourite is basketball. Our project won our category and also got the excellence award in Biotechnology.
