I am a grade 7 student at Cathcart Boulevard, Sarnia, Ontario who loves Math, Science (of course), and Geography. In grades 1-3, I participated in the Odyssey of the Mind competitions and found solutions to problems in flight, robotics, and drama. I represented Canada at the World Finals three times. Our Robotics team won the Regionals of the First Lego League. I enjoy playing the piano, swimming, volleyball and basketball. Last year my project on finding an environmentally friendly way to get rid of dandelions won me a Gold Award in the Junior Division of the Lambton County Science Fair. I kept up my interest in environmental sciences and this year wanted to find out the effect of ink used in receipt paper. I noticed that receipts tend to fade away over time. The more I read about it, the more I wanted to find out its effect on the growth of plants. Future Investigations: To find out alternative methods/chemicals that can be used in transactions involving receipts. I want to protect the common man who unknowingly is handling toxic chemicals. Advice to other students: Keep up your creativity in making new inventions and technologies, but please keep it GREEN. |
