Sommaire:The bacterial contamination of public washrooms, drinking fountains and phones was investigated. Swabs were cultured and bacteria were identified by light microscopy and VITEK analysis. Surfaces were contaminated with potentially harmful enteric bacteria with transmission of organisms from one surface to another. Bacterial contamination of these surfaces exists, potentially causing illness.
