| Christopher Akio - Christopher Piggott is a grade 9 student in the TOPS program at Marc Garneau C.I. in Toronto. He is involved in many clubs and after-school activities such as DECA, concert band, and Stock Market Club, and volunteers at the Toronto East General Hospital. Christopher enjoys being outdoors, and is a member of Scouts, where he often goes on camping trips. He participates in kendo, the Japanese martial art of sword fencing, and has attended many tournaments in which he often comes second or third in his category. His hobbies include model trains, model planes, and sailing, and hopes one day to become a marine biologist. | | Gorick Kar Hung - Gorick Ng is a fifteen-year-old grade nine student from the TOPS Program at Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute in Toronto, Ontario, where he is an active member of the Student Council. He is the youngest executive member of the Toronto District School Board's Supercouncil, where he holds the position of Northeast Quadrant Co-Chair. He enjoys volunteering in the Emergency Department at the Toronto East General Hospital, and as a peer tutor at his elementary school. Gorick has received the Doris Ferguson Memorial Award, given by the Elementary Teachers of Toronto to four students from across the Greater Toronto Area for outstanding leadership and community involvement. He enjoys magic, photography, and traveling (especially the plane ride and the in-flight meals). His favourite subject in school is science. He hopes to attend medical school and work abroad with Doctors Without Borders. |
