Biographie
Being born and raised on a small hobby farm in Northern British Columbia I have always loved animals. This is my fifth time being a finalist at the Canada Wide Science Fair and my love for animals, more specifically horses, has been the inspiration for most of my projects. This year's project inspiration was no different. As I am graduating high school this year, this is my final science fair project but that does not mean that this is the end of my science journey. During my post-secondary education I plan to work on a bachelor of Science Degree and take equine management courses, including equine nutrition. This will further my knowledge on the overall topic of my project. Every year I do a project, I always keep one thing the same, that is what I love. By picking a topic that holds my interest, it is a lot easier to stay enthusiastic and motivated to complete the project, no matter what obstacles might pop up.

Keeping the Balance: The Correlation Between Diet and pH in the Equine Hindgut
Défi:Découverte
Catégorie:Sénior
Région:Northern British Columbia
Ville:Montney, BC
École:North Peace Secondary
Sommaire:Equines have very complex digestive systems that can’t handle some of the food fed by horse owners today. My project is a study whether what you feed equines will affect the pH in their hindgut. If the pH is too acidic this can cause many health issues, my project is to determine what feeds help stop it from becoming too acidic.
