| The author of the project, Maggie Wang attends the International Baccalaureate program at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School. Her favourite subjects are biology and history. Outside of school, she enjoys skiing, lifeguarding and hanging out with friends. Maggie Wang was inspired to do the project after reading an article on the Magnolia family. She has always been curious about the potential of using natural extracts to counter cancer growth. With the help of her mentor, Michael Hughes, she learned more than she could possibly imagine about the process behind doing medical research. Maggie plans on continuing her research through the summer and hopes to test the compounds in vivo. |
