Biographie
My name is Johanna Brohhagen and I am in grade 7 at Trafalgar Middle School in Nelson, BC. My favourite subject in school is Math. I am a voracious reader and love dystopian and fantasy. I have just broken my record for the most pages read in one day – 410! Theatre is another of my passions – I have performed in many roles with the Nelson Youth Theatre, including the White Rabbit in “Alice” and the Narrator in “Charlotte’s Web”. I really enjoy playing field hockey and I am the school’s goalie. I also love to swim (Kootenay Lake is my favourite in the summer). My family consists of my mom, dad and me. I have been very lucky to travel to Germany many times, to visit family, as well as travelled to many spots in the United States. Inside of Canada, I have not had the opportunity, until now, to travel past Alberta. When I graduate high school I want to go to University, unsure however, what I want to study. The amazing thing about going to CWSF is being able to see the amazing projects that may help me decide what I would like to do.

Print vs. Screens - Old School vs. Tech

Sommaire:For our school-wide science fair, I chose to look at reading comprehension between screen and print. My initial test used teachers from my school and had them read the prologue of the novel, “The Book Thief”, and answer comprehension questions. From this, I have now expanded my study to test the comprehension of non-fiction using a different control group.
