| Nolan - My name is Nolan Armstrong, I`m 12 years old and I am from Cornwall Ontario. I attend Ecole secondaire publique L`Heritage and am part of the Baccalauréat International program. I enjoy singing, performing and playing the guitar, piano, and trombone. I am a member of the Ontario Youth A Cappella Chorus. I'm also very passionate in my studies in school. I am interested in animal studies and the sciences. My family and I love to travel and I was able to attend the Olympics in Vancouver. What inspired me for my project was that my family and I are very eco friendly so plants interest me. My partner suggested that we use artificial light to grow plants to see whether or not the light influences a plants growth. We plan to do our project a second time with different plants, to see how different types of chlorophyll react. We also are thinking of extracting the chlorophyll and examining it under a microscope. The advice that I would give to other students thinking about their project is to pick something that you are passionate about and that you enjoy doing; also make sure it is a good idea. | | Gabriel - Mon nom est Gabriel Valin. Je suis un garçon en 7e année de l'école secondaire L'Héritage de Cornwall en Ontario et j'ai douze ans. Quand j'ai des temps libres, j'aime jouer dehors, lire et jouer à des jeux vidéos. J'aime aussi passer du temps à notre chalet qui sur une terre à bois au Québec car j'aime la nature. Pour faire ce projet mon coéquipier et moi sommes inspirés du jardinage et des besoins des plantes. Notre questionnement nous a mené à vouloir savoir avec quelles couleurs de lumière les haricots poussent le plus rapidement possible. Pour amener cet expérience plus loin, nous désirons reproduire l'expérience une deuxième fois et extraire le chlorophylle des plantes pour s'assurer que nos données n'étaient pas dû au hasard. Comme conseils, je dirais de toujours être certain de ses réponses, de réviser ses théories et d'être très organisé. Dans le future, j'aimerais être un homme d'affaires et avoir ma propre compagnie. Pour cela, je veux travailler fort et foncer dans la vie pour y arriver. Mon avenir peut changer mais présentement, j'aime beaucoup où elle me mène. |

Pendant seize jours, nous avons examiné les plantes sous l’effet de la lumière rouge, bleue, verte et blanche. Nous avons été surpris de voir les résultats mais plus tard après l’expérience, il y a eu des effets secondaires et nous avons vu des différences au niveau de leur santé. |
