Maya Burhanpurkar is a 12 year old grade 7 student. In 2011 she received the “Junior Citizen of the Year Award” in a ceremony from the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. In 2009, 2010 and 2011, she won several awards at the Regional Science Fair including Best of Fair Overall, Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation’s “Stepping Stone Award”, The Ministry of the Environment's Environmental Innovator Award and several other environmental awards. She also maintains an A+ overall academic average and “First Class Honours with Distinction” at the Royal Conservatory of Music for piano. She also enjoys reading, snowboarding, skiing and playing soccer. |
