Biography
I was born in England and moved to Norway when I was four then I moved to Canada at age nine and have lived in Nova Scotia ever since. I don’t know what I want to do for my career, but I have always had a keen interest in performing arts and have appeared in lots of local plays. My other passion is singing and I have been a regular in the Lunenburg Music Festival for the past 4 years, I enjoy lots of other things as well like skating and art but hanging out with my friends is best of all. The weather has always interested me so when I got a weather station kit as a present, that gave me the idea to do something with weather, but as for the energy part that kind of progressed as I went along. Nutrition is also something that interests me so in the future I’d like to look into doing something based on that. The advice I would give is to do something you are interested in because you have to spend a lot of time working on it so it is better to be doing something that you enjoy.

Abstract:On average in Canada there is 229cm of snow every year. Snow is seen as a nuisance because it takes time energy and money to remove it. Scientists predict that due to global warming there will be less snow but more intense blizzards. This experiment shows that melted snow could be used to produce clean energy that could offset the average household winter heating bill.
