Biography
Hello my name is Rees. I was born and raised in B.C. and I am 13 years old. Since I was young I have always been interested in science and making and creating things. In my workshop I love to take things apart and I’m always curious to see what’s inside. I got the idea for making a drawing machine when I had access to a 3d printer. I also had the opportunity to go to the Vancouver Maker Faire in 2015. While I was there I met the designer for the 3D printer. He was inspiring. I realized then that I could also make a printer. I decided to make a CNC machine or a drawing machine out of old computer parts. A perfect day for me would be to shoot hoops with my friends, spend time in my workshop working on my latest project, and finish off the day close to my pets and draw, design and create in my art book. I was proud to win the junior Gr. 8 science fair award at my high school and feel honoured to travel to Montreal and be a part of the Fraser Valley Regional Team.

Abstract:Wouldn’t it be great if everyone could have their own CNC drawing machine? For my innovation I used old computer parts and an arduino to make a CNC drawing machine. I wrote code to move a pen and table so that it could make images and text with basic c plus plus language.
