| Assessing Environmental Toxicities: Amphibians as Bioindicators
Défi: | Environnement | Catégorie: | Intermédiaire | Région: | | Ville: | , | École: | | Sommaire: | In this project, commonly encountered substances (analgesics, contraceptives, antibiotics, cosmetic ingredients, tap water) were evaluated for developmental toxicity and teratogenic effects on embryonic stages of the African-clawed frog for the purpose of classifying these substances in their respective MSDS's, and to isolate potential factors in the decline of amphibians. In addition, excess exposure to UV-B rays were quantified to monitor their direct effects on amphibians. |
