| Raise it to a Boil! Calculating Calories
Challenge: | Innovation | Category: | Junior | Region: | | City: | , | School: | | Abstract: | The purpose of my experiment was to see if I could accurately calculate the caloric value (per gram) of four different dry snacks using a Homemade Can Calorimeter, and therefore accurately determine which food contained the most stored energy within its chemical bonds. I calculated the caloric value of the foods by measuring the change in temperature of 200g of water above a burning food. |
