My name is Julia Grein. I am fourteen years old, and in grade nine at John Diefenbaker Secondary School in Hanover, Ontario. My most enjoyable classes include math, science, and music, where I like to express my creativity. I am known by my peers for my participation in science fairs. In six years, I have received two bronze, two silver, and two gold medals from my Regional Science Fair. This year at the Regional Fair I also received the Agricultural Award and the Freddy Fusion Best of Fair Award. I have volunteered for community events such as the Durham Agricultural Fair and the cancer fund raiser, "Jake's Team." I have worked as a back stage manager for the Grey Bruce Singers, have obtained my Bronze Cross for swimming, and assist at my mother's small animal veterinary hospital. I am also a member of my school's grade nine band. Being involved in public speaking contests since grade two has also provided me with numerous awards. The opportunity to be a finalist at the CWSF is a goal I am proud to have achieved, and I know this experience will open doors for new opportunities and friendships. |
