| NOGOS: A Novel Nano-Oligosaccharide Doped Graphene Sand Composite Water Filter
Challenge: | Innovation | Category: | Junior | Region: | | City: | , | School: | | Abstract: | A novel nano-oligosaccharide doped graphene sand composite water filter (NOGOS) was created for use in developing countries. Graphene was produced easily from sugar and sand, and functionalized with chitosan, a natural flocculant. The NOGOS filtered all contaminants effectively, completely eliminated bacteria, and matched commercial water quality standards. |
