Biographie
I live in Norman Wells, NT and moved there from Ontario 5 years ago. I am heavily involved in horse back riding, and am president of MMS student council. When I "grow up" I want to be a large animal vet and work within agriculture. My strong passion for agriculture is what made me attempt this project and after some research from Agriculture Alberta knew that it would be a good project to attempt. Best advice I can give to students wanting to do a project is to "just do it". I put off doing this project for three years because I was afraid of loosing in my school. Don't be a chicken, even if you don't make it you will still have fun trying. To quote my late Granpa "It is all about PMA, personal mental attitude. And once you put your mind to it kiddo you can accomplish anything".

Salted Soil and its Effects on Plant Growth
Défi:Environnement
Catégorie:Sénior
Région:Sahtu
Ville:Norman Wells, NT
École:Mackenzie Mountain School
Sommaire:In some countries there is an abundance of salt in the soil (from a variety of reasons). When the soil dries out the salt content crystallizes, upon the return of proper watering this concentration of salt leaches into the soil effecting a plant's turgor pressure and osmotic system. Therefor it should be possible to reverse the effects of salt content in soil.
