Biographies
Jaclyn - My name is Jaclyn Cook and I’m a Grade 7 student at Tilbury Area Public School. This is the first year that I have qualified for the 2014 Canada Wide Science Fair. Some of my accomplishments are Singing (I have my Grade 4 vocal), and Piano (I have my Grade 3 piano). I am an Irish Dancer, and I have traveled as far as Ireland and competed in the feis there. I participate in school sports such as soccer, volleyball, basketball, and badminton. I have also participated in the LKDSB Science Engineering Challenge. I am looking forward to attending the Ontario Educational Leadership Camp this summer for Dramatic Theatre. This year will be a great opportunity to learn and to meet new people. I am looking forward to the great experience!
Taylor - My name is Taylor Myers and I am a grade 7 student, at Tilbury Area Public School. I love to paint, draw, sketch, and reread my favourite trilogy's. I was diagnosed with Juvenile diabetes when I was six years old and each year I participate in the walk for JDRF. In the past two years, I have participated in the Regional Science Fair, and this year I am thankful for the opportunity to move on to attend the Canada Wide Science Fair.

Sommaire:Our project focuses on the attitudes of Grade 7 and 8 students towards reading, and their ability to find spelling mistakes and comprehend what they read. Surveys were done at 4 elementary schools and results show that students who have a positive attitude towards reading scored higher in finding spelling mistakes and comprehending what they read.
