I consider myself to be an active individual. I took jazz and tap for 12 years. This year I was on the Winston Knoll High School volleyball and basketball teams. Without a doubt, my favourite sport is basketball. I have been playing basketball for 9 years and am on the Hornets’ club team which travels to the United States. Although sports are important, academics also play a big role in my life. In my first semester of High School, I maintained a 97% average and am currently at a 96%. I am in Honours Math and love working with numbers. In the future, I hope to pursue a career in the field of medicine or science.

Flammability of Fabric
Challenge:Discovery
Category:Intermediate
Region:Regina
City:Regina, SK
School:Winston Knoll Collegiate
Abstract:Household fires kill thousands of people yearly. To see if fabrics burn at different rates, I lit a variety of household fabrics on fire, with the assumption that cotton would burn the fastest. The data from the experiment refuted my original hypothesis as rayon burned 2.3 seconds faster than cotton. The basis of this experiment has the potential for both scientific and societal impacts.
