| Lynda Kong Knockdown of BNIP3 Gene Expression by RNA Interference
Division: | Biotechnology | Category: | Senior | Region: | Manitoba Schools Science Symposium | City: | Winnipeg, MB | School: | Manitoba Schools Science Symposium | Abstract: | The study attempts to knockdown BNIP3 expression using RNAi. By coupling rational design and validation in cell culture, three shRNA sequences capable of nearly completely inhibiting BNIP3 expression were identified. The sequences are useful in the study of BNIP3 function and may be developed into a gene therapy for neurodegenerative diseases. |
