I am 13 years old and I live in Burns Lake, B.C. I homeschool through EBUS Academy. I like outdoor activities and I feel that I am lucky to live in an area with so much nature. I love kayaking in the summer and building Lego at home. I love fantasy books and games. I enjoy cooking and like (to make and eat) a variety of dishes. I also love to garden in my flower bed which I plant every year. I take piano lessons as well as public speaking lessons. I was inspired to do my project when I noticed the growing lack of water in my local area, and the rest of the world. In the future I would like to continue testing the effects of grey water from the washing machine over a longer period of time, to test for build up of residue from the soap in the soil. For those who want to do science fair in the future, I suggest that you do what you love, as enjoying what you are doing is the most important part of the experiment. |
| Myers Illes Grey Water, Green Plants
Challenge: | Environment | Category: | Junior | Region: | Central Interior British Columbia | City: | Burns Lake , BC | School: | | Abstract: | With the growing lack of water throughout North America and the rest of the world, I knew I needed to find a way to help save that water. My project tested the effects of using Grey water from the washing machine as the primary water source on the growth of plants. I gathered my materials, and conducted an experiment to test my idea. |
