| I am a thirteen year old student at O'Gorman Intermediate School in Timmins, Ontario. In the winter I like to spend my free time snowboarding and playing hockey, and in the summer I sail all day. I also love reading, drama, travelling and trying different foods. I would like to be a neuroscientist some day. I was inspired to do this project after learning that people all over the world drink water contaminated with arsenic because it is too expensive to remove it, so I decided that I wanted to develop an accessible and easier method. This is my first ever Canada-Wide Science Fair, and I'm really excited to go. |

Contamination of drinking water with arsenic is an important problem in several areas of the world, and many people can not afford to remove it. For this project I analyzed different food products and their usefulness in removing arsenic from contaminated water. |
