Biography
Hello, my name is Aysha Young and I'm 17 years old. I'm from cornwall PEI and will be graduating from Bluefield High School in June, 2016. In the fall, I will be attending U.P.E.I. and aspire to become a French teacher. At school, I am a member of the concert, jazz, and honors band, the school musical, outdoor adventure club, and science fair club. Dance is my passion. I started 15 years ago and never stopped. I take ballet, pointe, step, jazz, contemporary, and highland classes and competes across the maritimes all year around. During my free time I love volunteering with kids, singing, dancing, spending time with friends and family, or doing anything artistic. My inspiration to create this project was my love of languages and curiosity to know more about the subject. For further investigations I hope to use the information from this project to encourage other to become bilingual also encourage the government to fund these activities. Science fair in a wonderful opportunity and everybody should get the experience to be a part of it. For those thinking to do a project I would say go for it and have fun.

A series of computer tests were conducted on over 110 bilingual and monolingual participants in two age categories:16 and under and 17 and over. These tests included: the Stroop task, the Simon task and 2 tests that involved categorizing by shapes, switching to categorizing by number of sides.
