Biographie
My name is Rachel Mamer and I am a grade 11 student. I enjoy all kinds of sports, my favourite being basketball. In my life I have won three provincial leval medals. Two SHSAA provincial bronze medals, one in track and field the other in basketball, and another bronze medal at the 2012 Saskatchewan Summer Games in softball. My future plans include going to university and studying to become a physiotherapist. The inspiration for my project came from wanting to create or improve a method of renewable energy. Advice I would give to another student who is considering doing a science fair project would be to find a problem that needs to be adresses. Make sure you are interested in that area and solve the problem. It is easy to put in the time and effort if you enjoy what you are doing, especially if you know your results could make an impact on other peoples lives.

Sommaire:I created a new type of wind turbine that has more than one egergy generation point on a single shaft. My modle aslo has a reduced number of moving parts, therefore maintinence costs should be reduced. Combining these two factors I was hoping to create a turbine that would be more efficient yet cost friendly.
