My name is Prachi Shah and I am in grade 12 at Westwood High School in fort McMurray, Alberta. I am the events coordinator for Student Council and am a member of the multicultural group, Colours. I am also a member of the Mayor's Advisory Council On Youth and am an Environmentor. Next year I will be attending University of Alberta to pursue a BSc specialization degree in Physiology and Developmental Biology. I have been on Honour roll-Award of Excellence for my entire high school career. In previous years at the Wood Buffalo Regional Science Fair, I have been awarded the Bronze medal twice, the Syncrude Material Sciences award, and the BP Chemistry award. I got the inspiration for my project from my mentor and I was able to be a part of the ground-breaking research being carried out at University of Alberta. Since I will be student at the university starting next year, I plan to continue my work with the lab and expand both my knowledge and project to broader proportions. I would advise others thinking of doing a project to choose a topic they are passionate and curious about since it will give them the drive needed. |
