| I am a Grade 8 student attending Banff Community High School in Alberta. I am greatly interested in human cybernetics and computer integration. I enjoy taking part in our regional Science Fair and have previously entered projects using robotics, chemistry and computer testing, achieving first place in my category on each occasion. I have received various other awards including the Genome Alberta award this year. This project was inspired by an article I read titled "Shakespeare sonnets encoded in DNA". I tried to find a practical use for computer code on the body and so formulated the idea of QR codes on the skin. It was suggested that this could be applied to dog tags, clothing, bracelets, etc. storing static information. However I think a more useful expansion would be to let additional information such as banking details, drivers license or résumé be added by the user dynamically over time. My advice to other students is to find something original, useful and convenient, the simplest ideas are often the best. |
