Biography |
---|
My name is Riley Reese, and I go to Glendale Sciences and Technologies school in Red Deer City. I like to program (I am signed up for a course at the RDC for game development), write, and read. In the summer I enjoy camping far away from any town or city. When I get older and attend college, I wish to study to be a Software Engineer. This year was my third year attending the regional science fair, and my first ever time going to the CWSF. I am also the first in my school to attend the CWSF. |
| Riley Reese Microbial Fuel Cells
Challenge: | Innovation | Category: | Junior | Region: | Central Alberta Rotary | City: | Red Deer County, AB | School: | Glendale Middle School | Abstract: | I constructed and tested a Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC), a device that harnesses electricity from specific types of bacteria. These bacteria eventually clean out their food supply, so the MFC has a very big application in the water treatment sector. Potentially, the MFC could both treat waste water and generate electricity. |
