Biography
My name is Brennan King, and I am a grade 8 student attending Prince of Wales Mini school. I love all sports, but my two favourite are soccer and ultimate. When I grow up I aspire to be either an architect or a computer programmer. The reason that I am doing this project is because I do not have a very long throw in ultimate, and the angle at which the disc is released plays a large factor in the distance that it travels. I have recently been doing a bit more fine tuning on the Frisbee launcher. I have added a counter-top surface on the launch surface to reduce the friction, but I would also like to get a more powerful drill. Once these changes have been made I will redo my experiment and see if the results are the same. For anyone that feels intimidated by science fair, just remember to choose a topic that you are passionate about. Choose something that you enjoy doing, so that science fair becomes what it really is, fun.

Abstract:Does the launch angle of a Frisbee affect how far it travels, and if so what angle sends it the furthest? In order to answer these questions a Frisbee launcher that can throw discs at several different angles was made. After experimentation, I found at the best launch angle is 15 degrees.
