A Mechanical Sunflower that Turns With The Sun
Challenge:Energy

Abstract:The amount of energy produced by photovoltaic panels is limited, due to their immobility. However, when they track the movement of the Sun, their efficiency increases significantly. A solution exists in nature: the sunflower. The plant has the ability to continually turn with the Sun through photosynthesis. If this idea can be implemented into solar technology, the efficiency of photovoltaic panels could drastically improve.
