Biography
I am a grade seven student, and my favourite subjects are Math and Music. My hobbies include piano, squash, badminton, and origami. Although it is a long way off, I would someday like to have a job that involves some kind of Math or Science. My project was inspired by suggestions from my parents, my interest in math and playing various card games, and my desire to learn more about computer programming. My advice to students that are thinking about doing a Science project would be to try to find a topic that really interests you. That way, it still feels like fun even when you are working hard.

Abstract:Different strategies for the card game High-Low were created and compared using probability and computer simulations. My hypothesis was that I could adapt the idea of card counting used in Blackjack to improve my chances of winning. My results show that even though my card counting strategy is simple enough to do by mental mathematics, it does almost as well as the best possible strategy.
