A Novel Application of Swarm Intelligence in Policing
Challenge:Innovation
Category:Senior

Abstract:Over the past decade, the average response time to emergency calls has increased. Commonly used methods to reduce response time such as the Floyd-Warshall algorithm do not take into account that some police stations are overworked. I propose the use of the artificial fish swarm algorithm to reduce the response times in Vancouver and ensure that each police station handles an approximate number of crimes.
