Hi, my name is Patricia Humer. I live in Kelowna B.C. I am in grade 7 at Ecole KLO Middle School in French immersion. This is my first time going to the Canada-Wide Science Fair. I got the inspiration for my project browsing the website my science teacher recommended, Science Buddies. There I saw something about candy, chromatography and colours. Candy and colours had always interested me, but I did not know what chromatography was, so I became very interested and researched it and put my own spin on the project . For further investigation I think I would try to get a bit more information about the dyes in the M&M's (ingredients) or testing different candies. If I had to give advice to other students thinking about doing a project it would be that, you have to pick a project or topic that interests you because it is a lot more fun if you enjoy the project you are doing. My hobbies include playing soccer, sailing and Irish dance. In band I play the french horn and the trumpet. Out of school I play the piano. My dream job would be a cardiologist. |
