My name is Andrew Armstrong, and I'm from White Rock, BC. I am 13 years old, and am currently enrolled in Grade 10 at RCOA. I thoroughly enjoy sports, and my past achievements include placing 6th in a provincial IM swimming relay, as well as receiving gold at last year's 13U volleyball provincials. I also enjoy biking, rock climbing, and unicycling in my leisure time. In addition to sports, I have reached a Grade 6 RCM level in violin, and frequently take part in musicals; I have just finished performing as Mr. Collins in Pride and Prejudice. My inspiration for this project came from my brother, Matthew, who is currently taking a Mathematical-Physics major at SFU. Due to time constraints, I took a relatively small sample for this project, but in the future I look forward to significantly increasing the size of the test in order to gain a more accurate understanding of the controversy. For students hoping to take part in future CWSFs, I have this advice: ensure your presentation of your project is well practiced. Present in front of friends and family who have no notion of what your project is, and practice answering their questions fully. |

Défi: | Découverte | Catégorie: | Intermédiaire | Région: | Fraser Valley | Ville: | Surrey, BC | École: | | Sommaire: | In this project, I attempted to ascertain whether the New England Patriots cheated in the 2014 NFL AFC Championship by lowering the PSI level of the footballs. To do this, I recreated game conditions as accurately as I could to determine if deflation logged by the NFL was the result of tampering by Patriot personnel, or if it was the result of the weather conditions. |
