Abstract:This experiment determined the required duration of soybean seed imbibing in a warm environment before cooling was applied in order for imbibitional chilling injury (ICI) to be resisted. Modern soybean varieties experienced minimal ICI, provided that the seed hydrated in a warm environment for at least the initial eight hours.
